3 Meghalaya referees clear tests for Level 5

Shillong, March 30: Three referees/assistant referees from Meghalaya have successfully cleared fitness and written examination for upgrade to Level 5 under the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Achievement of the trio – Pipilmoris Wanniang (women’s referee), Shidalin L Marshillong (women’s assistant referee) and Jespar Syiemlieh (men’s assistant referee) – has further extended the pool of qualified match officials from the state.

They will now be invited for practical and viva in due course. The exams to qualify for Level 5 were held on 25 and 27 March at LNIPE Gwalior.

Level 5 is the first rung that enables referees/assistant referees to officiate national-level matches, rising to Level 1 for those with the highest certification. Levels 6-8 are for state-level referees/assistant referees.
