Shillong, July 22: As many as 46 students of University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) have cleared UGC NET/JRF examinations held in June 2025, stated a press release.
Terming it a significant milestone, USTM has announced that it would reimburse the full admission and semester fees of these students under its Payback Policy.

Under the policy, the university has refunded over Rs 1.3 crore to previous achievers in prestigious national-level exams such as UGC NET, GATE, and Civil Services, stated the release.
“This initiative reaffirms the University’s commitment to supporting meritorious students and making quality education accessible regardless of financial background,” it said.
In 2024, 71 students qualified for UGC NET/JRF, and around 500 cleared NET and SLET over the recent years.
“We are immensely proud of our students. Their success is a testament to our focus on academic rigor and support systems,” said USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque.
USTM is ranked among the top 200 best universities in India by NIRF for three consecutive years, it said.
