8 NE bands perform in USTM music fest

Shillong, Nov 1: OneNorthEast-1.0, a musical festival marked colourful celebration of the Founder’s Day of University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on Saturday evening.

The event brought together eight exceptional bands from the eight north-eastern states – The Eternal Triangle (Assam), Techi (Arunachal Pradesh), Even Flow (Mizoram), Roll Heads (Sikkim), Rewben Mashangva (Manipur), Aseno Metha (Nagaland), Pillow Records (Tripura) and Lou Majaw & The Electric Garden (Meghalaya).

Organised by Mawjam Event Network led by pop-rock icon Dr Lou Majaw, the festival celebrated the themes of love, peace, and togetherness.

In his address, USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque emphasised the importance of cultural events in fostering unity.

“Events like this demonstrate the strength of coming together to inspire peace, harmony, and progress in society,” said Lou Majaw.
