Baghmara, Sept 10: As part of the Back to School Campaign, a two day ‘ On ground activities/ Roadshow/Studies Shift ‘ program got underway at Siju Block in South Garo Hills.
The event is being organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority Shillong in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Baghmara.
During the Roadshow an official from FM Radio Mr RJ Zack highlighted various issues and provisions that the Government of Meghalaya has under taken in order to bring back the school dropouts children to school. Making mentioned of the free Legal aid Services and other Legal assistance, Mr Zack also informed about the National Institute of Open School ( NIOS)where people who are engaged in work can also get admission and start studying while mentioning the numerous problems one can face in this generation if he or she is illiterate.
He further urged all the unorganized workers, Agriculture Labourers, Domestic and Home based workers, Migrant workers, Construction workers etc to register themselves in District Labour Department for the benefits of availing grant and aids from the Government stating that the children of registered Labourers can avail free Education from class V to Masters with one time book and uniform grant and stationery grant of Rs 500.
This two day Roadshow program will culminate in Baghmara on 11th September 2024.
