Home Guards dept recruitment process to resume on Nov 18

Shillong, Nov 7: The recruitment process for 445 posts in Civil Defence and Home Guards department will resume with Physical Efficiency Test (PET) scheduled from November 18 to 21.

The PETs, which were earlier postponed following complaints about poor test ground conditions, will be conducted in Shillong and Tura. A total of 22,742 candidates have applied for the open positions, according to Comingone Ymbon, the minister in-charge of the department.

The 445 posts include 4 sub-inspectors, 284 guardsmen, 17 drivers, 140 non-combatant employees (NCEs). Candidates previously scheduled for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and PET on October 4, 5, 7, and 8, along with those who completed the PMT and PET on October 2 and 3, shall download updated admit cards from the department’s website meghomeguards.gov.in starting November 6, said the minister.
