Shillong, Dec 5: There’s something for everyone at The Hills Festival which is all set to return bigger, bolder, and more magical than ever from December 6–7. The festival promises to be an unforgettable weekend celebrating music, art, culture, and cuisine in the heart of North East.
Supported by Meghalaya Tourism, the fifth season will take place at Umiam, Umbir Village and tickets can be booked at www.bookmyshow.com. Soulful melodies, food and adventure will keep attendees busy.
The festival boasts a two-stage extravaganza with an eclectic mix of international stars and homegrown talent. At the Hills Live Stage, acoustic, folk & bands performances will be set while the Electric Hills Stage will play high-energy beats and experimental sounds against the tranquil backdrop of Umiam Lake.
Artist line-up will include Yashraj, a Mumbai-based rapper who has redefining hip-hop with bold tracks such as Dhundhala and Ishq Nachaawe; I Built The Sky, a Melbourne-based guitarist Ro Han leads IBTS, crafting progressive metal; Mookhuri, a Khasi folk band bringing the state’s traditions to life; Tiana Khasi, a Samoan-Indian artist blending R&B, jazz, and contemporary sounds; Lis, a dynamic USA drummer energizing global audiences; Robu, a London-based producer delivering heavy drops and bouncy beats; INSOWMYA, an electronic artist known for bass-heavy beats and Boiler Room hits; Yung Sammy, a Nigerian-Indian rapper mixing Afro and Desi vibes with global appeal and many more.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya’s wild edibles and traditional flavors will be showcased with The Forage Aisle by SUNRISE under the guidance of culinary maestro Chef Nambie Jessica Marak, alongside Ridalang Tariang and Team Roma Eatery where local ingredients are transformed into innovative dishes that are both rooted in tradition and reimagined for today’s palate.
Over 20 talented local food entrepreneurs will also offer a vibrant showcase of Meghalaya’s rich gastronomic heritage, bringing together at the SUNRISE HILLSFEAST. Here, the region’s most celebrated flavors come alive, from tantalizing local delicacies to hearty traditional meals that warm the soul.
Going beyond music and food, weaving an artistic narrative through its immersive art installations that transform the festival’s sprawling 43-acre venue into a vibrant canvas of creativity.
Meanwhile, thrill-seekers who want to experience camping amidst the serene landscape while immersing themselves in the festival’s electric vibe, CampX, the official camping partner, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to do just that. Hot air ballooning will also make a grand comeback to the festival where one can soar above Umiam Lake for panoramic views of the festival grounds.
