Ajmal appeals to PM Modi for action on atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh

Guwahati, Dec 6: Former Lok Sabha MP and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) leader Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate and decisive action to address the reported atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

Ajmal expressed his concerns in a letter to the Prime Minister, urging India to leverage its influence to ensure the safety and rights of these vulnerable communities.

Ajmal highlighted recent reports of violence and discrimination against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh, including attacks on their homes and properties. He described these incidents as serious violations of human rights and international laws protecting minority groups.

“The rising violence represents a direct threat to the safety and dignity of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, tarnishing the country’s image globally,” he stated.

Ajmal underscored India’s historical and cultural ties with Bangladesh, emphasizing that it is India’s moral obligation to advocate for the safety of minorities there. He called upon Prime Minister Modi to use India’s global stature to press the Bangladeshi government into taking swift and sincere action to protect its minorities.

“India can play a crucial role in ensuring that the Bangladeshi government prioritizes the security of its vulnerable communities and takes urgent measures to uphold their rights,” Ajmal wrote.

Ajmal also urged the Indian government to work on international platforms to highlight the issue, ensuring that the Bangladeshi government is held accountable for protecting its minorities. He expressed hope that this intervention would prompt immediate corrective actions.
