Shillong, Dec 12: Over 40 local farmers turned up to get their livestock checked for the animal health camp held at Thadnongiaw village in Ri Bhoi on Wednesday.
The camp, organised by the NICRA-TDC project by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ri Bhoi, focused on improving livestock health through practical demonstrations on deworming, vaccination, and the benefits of vitamin and mineral supplementation.
Farmers were coached by experts on the importance of bio-security measures, such as securing animal enclosures, controlling farm access, and maintaining personal hygiene to prevent disease transmission.
The event aimed to equip farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance livestock productivity and resilience, promoting sustainable farming practices to adapt to climate change and ensure long-term farm health and productivity.
