Govt to recruit 500 UP, LP teachers

Shillong, Feb 14: The state government will soon recruit 500 more teachers in lower primary (LP) and upper primary (UP) schools in the state.

Last year, the education department recruited around 1000 teachers in LP schools.

Informing this on Friday, special project director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Swapnil Tembe said, “We are concerned right now with vacancy for about 500 teachers for LP and UP school in the state.”

“Now, the rosters are being filled up, and once the drafted advertisement gets approved by the government, the procedure of recruitment will start. We are trying to expedite as soon as possible” he added.
