New committee on Garo culture and heritage preservation constituted

Tura, April 2: The Governor of Meghalaya has today issued a notification announcing the constitution of a committee to look into aspects for preservation of Garo culture and heritage.

The committee will consist of 28 members and will be headed by Meghalaya Minister Marcuise N Marak as the Chairman, and Director of Arts and Culture Directorate I Majaw as the Member Secretary.

The members of the committee includes Meghalaya Assembly Deputy Speaker Timothy D Shira, Secretary of Arts and culture Department R P Marak, GHADC Chief Executive Member Albinuis R Marak, Semford B Sangma, Charmingstar N Sangma (Retd MCS), social activist Sengrak D Marak, former MPSC member Babynna T Sangma.

The committee will also have President of the A’chik Baptist Dalgipa Krima Beryl B Sangma, Narcylina M Marak, Don Bosco College Principal Father Janurius S Sangma, Dr Ramona M Sangma, Bijoy A Sangma, Barnita R Marak, Dr. Angela W Ingty, and GHADC executive secretary Sam Ricardo R Marak.

The other members are Dr Merril N Sangma, Sume G B Sangma, Sabina K Sangma, Dr Cintholina B Sangma, Gredalson Ch Momin, Coffercil R Marak, Giribala G Momin, Lyndon Ch Momin, Balkarin Ch Marak, Cherian Ch Momin and Happiniush M Sangma.
