4 Bangla nationals, Indian tout arrested

Shillong, Apr 4: Four Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout were arrested by BSF personnel while trying to infiltrate into Indian territory near the Indo-Bangla border in East Khasi Hills district.

The Indian national, a resident of East Khasi Hills district, was allegedly facilitating the illegal crossing, the BSF said.

They have been handed over to Pynursla police station for further action.

Since January 2025, BSF Meghalaya has apprehended 78 Bangladeshi nationals near the international border, the BSF said.
