Terming it a dream come true, Agarwal said, “It is an overwhelming moment for me… I couldn’t believe my eyes when I see the result. Since I entered class X, I always envisioned that I will see the result maybe in top 20 and today that dream has come true.”

The St Margaret’s student also attributed her success to her school, teachers, parents and friends.

“I am a very nervous person and they told me not to be scared and that everything will be fine,” she said.

Acknowledging the role of the school in her success, she said, “‘Thank you’ is not enough to express of what that school has given me. This wouldn’t be possible without them, without teachers, our principal.”

In her advice to the upcoming batches, she said, “You don’t need to be nervous, just go with the flow, just be consistent as consistency is the key as we all say.”

She also underlined the importance of extra-curricular activities, saying “Participate in everything. Don’t forget extra-curricular activities as that is also extremely important.”

“Don’t take your studies as hectic duty, just be happy and study nicely, gain knowledge and don’t just memorize things,” she added.

According to second position holder Evanshan Nongrum of Sacred Heart Boys’ HS School, Shillong, her success was due to seven hours of study every day.

Sixth position holder Ranchita Paul of St Margaret’s HS School, Shillong explained the importance of being “honest”, and said, “We need to be honest with ourselves… while studying, we should not get into any distractions… if we study for 2 hours, we must study wholeheartedly.”

“I am very happy that the performance of the school is very good. I have been studying in St Margaret since nursery and it is my second home. I am happy that I can make all the sisters and teachers proud,” she stated.
