HSSLC results show steady growth

Pass percentage rises by 8% in five years, MBOSE lauds stakeholders

Tura, May 5: In an encouraging development for education in the state, the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) results have shown a consistent upward trend over the past five years, with an overall 8% rise in pass percentages across streams.

The pass percentage of the HSSLC results- from 74% (2021) to 82% (2025) in Arts, 75.85% (2021) to 82.94% (2025) in Science, an eight percent rise has been remarkable prompting MBOSE Executive Chairman C P Marak to acknowledge the contributions of every stakeholder, particularly schools and parents.

Over 29, 278 students appeared for the HSSLC examination in all four streams, Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational, this year.

The Arts stream witnessed the biggest number of students appearing in this year’s HSSLC exams- 22,835 students. With 18,736 clearing the exam the pass percentage rose to 82.05 percent, a three percent rise from last year (79.76).

In the Science stream, out of 3,922 students who appeared for the exams, 3253 successfully cleared it (82.94%). However, there has been a drop in the pass percentage in comparison to last year when it stood at 85.24%, but it did better than the results of previous years (2021, 2022 and 2023).

In Commerce, out of 2501 students, 2033 cleared the exams, and from the Vocational stream 17 passed (out of 20).

“We acknowledge the contribution of the different Schools in imparting education to their students who come from different backgrounds. The teachers who are known as nation builders have enabled their students to put their level best in the examination and come out with flying colours,” said MBOSE Executive Chairman C P Marak while lauding the efforts of each and every contributor to education in the state.
