CRPF plants over 280 saplings

Shillong, May 16: The 67th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a plantation drive at its campus and surrounding areas, including Lawmali Pyllun, Forest Colony, and Buddha Temple area here on Friday.

A total of 286 saplings of indigenous and environment-friendly species were planted with an objective of enhancing green cover, improving ecological balance, and promoting sustainable living.

CRPF IG NES Anshuman Yadav, DIG Guwahati Range Anil Kumar Dhyani, and Commandant 67 Bn Sunil Kumar Savita played various crucial roles in the plantation drive, according to a statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Kumar, second-in-commandant, 67 Bn emphasised the CRPF’s commitment to not only ensuring internal security but also contributing to the welfare of the environment and society. Deputy commandant Thanglenlal Misao and assistant commandant Rohit Kumar were also present.
