Shillong, June 22: The Cherry Blossom Festival 2025 will be held from November 14–15, announced chief minister Conrad K Sangma during the World Music Day celebration here on Saturday evening.
This time, the festival will be held in the heart of Shillong, with pop-up experiences and cultural installations planned across the city.
The main concerts to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will feature US-based pop superstar Jason Derulo, who will perform his best numbers – Swalla, Talk Dirty, Savage Love – along with his 15-member dance crew.
Known for his explosive stage presence and masterful dance routines, Derulo is celebrated as one of the Top 10 male singers of all time who can dance—fusing vocals and choreography like few others in the world.
The Script, one of Ireland’s most acclaimed rock bands, will join Derulo as equal co-headliner. With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, the band has a global fan base thanks to iconic tracks like Hall of Fame, Breakeven, and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.
A standout feature this year will be the inclusion of RFID LED wristbands for every ticket holder — a concept made famous by Coldplay — creating a synchronized light show and unifying the audience experience.
