By Thursday, the number had reduced to 10, with some rivers recording falling levels, indicating a slight respite from flood risks.

Among key sites, the Ganga at Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh recorded a falling trend, though its present level was recorded at 137.09 metres, crossing its warning level of 136.6 metres. The Ghagra at Elginbridge, also in Uttar Pradesh, was nearing danger levels at 105.28 metres with a forecasted fall to 105 metres.
