2 held for snatching gold ornament

Shillong, July 17: Two persons were arrested by city police for allegedly snatching a gold pendant from a person at Polo, Shillong.

Acting on information about the snatching incident on Thursday, a police team along with CRPF personnel apprehended the suspects – Kenny Kharmujat (24) and Subroto Baidya (32) – from Golflinks.

A gold pendant was recovered from the possession of Kharmujat. Both the accused are residents of Lumshyiap, Nongmynsong.

Meanwhile, superintendent of police H Kharkongor appealed to citizens report such incidents of snatching at Sadar police station.

Stolen scooty found at Baghmara

In another incident, one Arjun S Marak alias Jaksi alias Kugra (32) was arrested from Baghmara in South Garo Hills for his involvement in stealing a scooty on Thursday.

North Garo Hills also recovered the stolen scooty (ML 13A 3853) from his possession.
