SSA association alleges anomalies in Megh-SIMS portal

Shillong, Aug 14: The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) has identified ‘incorrect data entries’ by the Megh-SIMS Portal and has asked the authorities concerned to make revisions before implementing the new mechanism.

In a letter to the Director of School Education & Literacy, the association highlighted several issues that need to be addressed in light of the recent directive to submit budget and fund requirements for teachers’ salaries through the portal.

The association has alleged incorrect data entries by the Megh-SIMS Portal and said, “Many SSA teachers’ details, including names, date of joining, and other employment records, have been incorrectly entered in the portal/database, which may impact the processing of their salaries and future service records.”

It said that teachers/Head Teachers are not permitted to access the Megh-SIMS Portal to verify or correct their personal and service details, posing a risk of continued errors and injustice to many affected teachers.

Some teachers’ names do not appear at all in the Megh-SIMS Portal, making it impossible to include them in the budgeting and fund requisition process, which may result in delayed or non-disbursement of salaries, the association stated.

The association has urged the Director of School Education & Literacy to address these issues and take urgent action to rectify them before implementing the new mechanism to prevent any  undue hardship for the affected teachers.
