Regular reviews held on Laitumkhrah market project: Ampareen

Shillong, Aug 20: Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Laitumkhrah market project.

“As MLA of the constituency, including all stakeholders involved in this we are very satisfied. We need to ensure that whatever is done, is done correctly and construction will take time,” Lyngdoh told reporters on Tuesday.

According to the minister, there may be some overruns but the project requires careful planning and execution, and regular reviews are being conducted to ensure that everything is done correctly.

She acknowledged that there may be some delays, but she is confident that the government is working in the right direction.

Lyngdoh further informed that the second phase of the project will require the dismantling of the current market. She assured that the government is working on the project and that there is no need to rush.

The minister noted that the market has been in existence since 1976 and that the stakeholders have waited for over 40 years for the project to be completed.

She emphasized that waiting for a couple of months more will not make a significant difference, as the government is doing the right thing and working diligently to complete the project.
