Army hosts Teachers’ Day song contest in Menchuka

Menchuka, Sept 6:To mark Teachers’ Day, the Indian Army under Spear Corps organised an inter-school group song competition at Government Higher Secondary School, Menchuka, Arunachal Pradesh, celebrating the vital role of teachers in shaping young minds.

The competition drew enthusiastic participation from schools across the Menchuka valley, with students dedicating heartfelt songs to their teachers. The performances reflected deep respect and admiration, resonating with themes of gratitude, learning, and mentorship. Teachers and parents lauded the Army’s efforts in fostering a sense of community and values through such cultural initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, Army officials emphasised that the event aimed not only to honour educators but also to instil discipline, dedication, and the value of learning among students. They underlined the irreplaceable role of teachers as nation-builders and guiding lights for the youth.

The celebration also reinforced the strong civil–military relationship in the region. Organised under Operation Sadbhavna, the event was part of the Army’s broader efforts to support youth through education, culture, and infrastructure. Such initiatives offer platforms for local talent to thrive and encourage community involvement.

The programme concluded with a collective salute to the teaching fraternity for their selfless service and lasting impact on future generations.
