NPP remembers Lapang at condolence meet

Shillong, Sep 13: The National People’s Party (NPP) expressed its deep condolence over the demise of former chief minister Dr DD Lapang in a condolence meeting held at NPP headquarters in Shillong on Saturday.

Chaired by party’s national president and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, the meeting observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed soul and prayed for peace and strength for his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Condoling his demise, the chief minister said, “Dr Lapang remained was committed to the cause and concerns of the people of Meghalaya till his last breath. His qualities as a leader will always inspire the NPP family, and his absence will be truly missed.”

“In his demise, the party has lost a fatherly figure, a guide, and a mentor to every member of the party. His contribution to public life and his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people will remain a source of inspiration for generations to come,” he said.
