I&B Ministry official reviews Special Campaign 5.0 in State

Shillong, Oct 24: Central government offices under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) in Meghalaya have earned appreciation for successfully implementing the ongoing Special Campaign 5.0 of government of India.

During his visit to various offices under the Ministry, Under Secretary Mihir Kumar Jha on Friday lauded Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) and All India Radio (AIR) for maintaining clean and eco-friendly premises, Press Information Bureau (PIB) for its systematic record management and documentation, and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) for its public outreach efforts, according to an official release.

During the inspection, Jha reviewed the implementation of several key components of the campaign, including cleanliness drives, scrap disposal, record digitization through e-Office, optimal utilisation of office spaces and improvement in grievance redressal mechanisms.

Under Special Campaign 5.0, the Shillong offices have taken proactive steps such as; effective scrap disposal and removal of obsolete materials to free up space, transition to e-Office systems for improved file management, transparency and paperless operations, reorganization and beautification of office spaces for better functionality and aesthetics, and plantation drives under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, stated the release.

Jha also held a review meeting involving senior officials of DDK, AIR, PIB, and CBC Shillong, where best practices and future action plans were discussed to maintain the positive momentum achieved under the campaign.
