Won’t delay issue of land title rights certificates: EM

Shillong, Oct 24: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has assured that land title rights certificates will be issued promptly, despite the KHAD (Regulation and Administration of Land) Act, 2021 not specifying a timeframe for issuance.

Executive Member in-charge of land, Powell Sohkhlet, made this statement in response to an issue raised by Nongpoh MDC Rona Khymdei on Friday.

Sohkhlet emphasised that the department will not delay the issuance of certificates, ensuring that they are issued at the earliest possible time.

Meanwhile, the KHADC has also passed the KHAD (Administration of Justice) (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
