AICC backs Pala on state leadership

Shillong, Oct 29: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has ruled out any possibility of replacing Vincent Pala as the party’s state chief.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, saying that there is no vacancy in the position.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, AICC state in-charge Dr A Chellakumar defended Pala while responding to questions about the latter’s leadership.

“How can you say that? Because somebody left the Congress party, it doesn’t mean that it is a failure of leadership,” Chellakumar said.

Praising Pala as a loyal and dedicated Congressman, Chellakumar said, “Today, people who left the Congress are coming back…, accepting Vincent Pala’s leadership.”
