Appeal for removal of viral NEHU accident

Shillong, Nov 19: The North‑Eastern Hill University Students’ Union (NEHUSU) and the KSU NEHU Unit on Wednesday requested the immediate removal of a video showing two NEHU students in the horrifying accident which is being widely circulated on social media platforms.

In a joint statement, the student bodies expressed deep concern over the emotional distress the footage has caused to the victims’ families, friends, and the wider university community.

They emphasized that continued sharing of the video infringes on the privacy, dignity, and well‑being of the individuals affected.

“We hereby request all individuals, social media users, page admins, and media organisations to immediately take down, delete, and refrain from sharing or reposting this video or any related sensitive content,” the statement reads.

The unions highlighted the need for empathy and collective responsibility at this difficult time and extended heartfelt solidarity to the injured students and their families.
