Job recruitment EJ Hills DSC to adopt measures to enhance transparency

Shillong, Nov 28: The District Selection Committee (DSC) of East Jaintia Hills district have decided to enhance transparency in the process of job recruitments.

A DSC meeting held on Thursday in presence of local MLAs – Kyrmen Shylla (Khliehriat) and Santa Mary Shylla (Sutnga-Saipung) – resolved to enhance transparency in the recruitment process by publishing the qualifying or cut-off marks after the declaration of final results.

The meeting attended by DSC members, school principals, and legal representatives, also reaffirmed that the ratio of candidates shortlisted for the personal interview round will remain at 1:2.

To ensure timely and accurate communication, the DSC will directly notify candidates about subsequent stages of recruitment through email and SMS.

In a further move to promote accountability, both the Provisional Answer Keys and the final Answer Keys will be uploaded on the DSC website after the conduct of examinations.

Additionally, it was decided that DSC will explore ways to temporarily shut down internet services or using jammers, CCTVs during examinations to prevent malpractice.

After completion of the recruitment process, the marks of all candidates will be made public and uploaded on the official district website.

A letter was also submitted by R Siangshai and Advocate K Ksoo highlighting several issues, including the display of cut-off marks, interview ratios, and the need for transparent communication with candidates.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring fairness, transparency, and efficiency in all recruitment-related activities.

The stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting and conveyed their appreciation to the Chairman for initiating such discussions.

They also suggested that similar consultative meetings be held regularly to allow continuous feedback and improvement.
