Ampati, Jan 23: MD Momit Sarkar Receives Gold Medal and Emerges as Programme Topper in Tourism Management

MD Momit Sarkar, son of Jongu Miah and a resident of Mahendraganj in South West Garo Hills district, Meghalaya, has been awarded the Gold Medal and secured the position of Programme Topper with an impressive CGPA of 8.84 in the year 2024. He completed his Postgraduate degree, Master of Tourism Management (MTM), from the North East Institute of Management Science, Jorhat, under Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU).

He received the Gold Medal at the Assam Science and Technology University Convocation 2025 from the Honourable Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya.

Despite losing his mother during childhood, MD Momit Sarkar never discontinued his education and continued his academic journey with strong determination and perseverance. He received constant encouragement and support from his family, especially his parents, sister, and his maternal uncle and aunt, whose guidance played a vital role in his success.

In addition to his postgraduate degree, he has successfully completed B.Sc., B.Ed., D.El.Ed., and ITI in the trade of Office Assistant-cum-Computer Operator (OACCO) from Ampati, under the Government of Meghalaya, securing good academic performance in all qualifications.

His achievement stands as an inspiring example of perseverance, family support, and the belief that consistent hard work ultimately pays off.
