Eight liquor units, one Ethanol plant in Meghalaya: Minister

Shillong, Feb 17: Minister in-charge Brening A Sangma told the Assembly on Tuesday that Meghalaya’s excise sector comprises eight liquor units and a single ethanol plant.

“The total number of liquor units is eight and the total number of ethanol units is one,” Sangma said in reply to a question tabled in the House.

He listed the locally manufactured brands produced by bottling, brewery and distillery units in the state, which include: Vintage Cask Matured XXX Rum, Ember Gold Reserve Whisky, Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin, and Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin with Sohiong Berries.
