Tura violence victim stable, rumours of critical condition false

Tura, March 13: The West Garo Hills district administration has clarified that reports claiming that an injured person admitted to Civil Hospital, Tura is in critical condition are not true.

According to an official press release issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Pantera M. Marak was admitted to Civil Hospital on March 11 after sustaining injuries to his right arm and right knee along with some minor injuries during the violence that took place at Araimile.

He was promptly attended to by a team of doctors and kept in the ICU initially for observation as a precautionary measure. As his condition remained stable, he was later shifted to the General Surgery Ward where he continues to receive routine medical care, informed Vibhor Aggarwal, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner.

The DC stated that his condition is stable and there is no cause for concern.

The administration also urged the public not to believe or circulate unverified information that could create unnecessary panic and disturb public peace.
