Shillong Airport expansion work to start soon: Dhar

Shillong, April 22: Work for expansion of the Shillong Airport is expected to start soon as the work has already been allotted to the contractor, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Tuesday.

“The tender has been allotted for the expansion. Maybe the contractor will start the work very shortly,” Dhar said.

“Let us see. It seems the time of completion for the contractor is 18 months,” he added.

Dhar said details of the contractor and construction plan are being sought.

The minister said he had issued instructions to get details of the contractor and work details, including the scheduled time of completion of the project.

The details are likely to be available with state government by next month, he said.
