True development possible only with equal opportunity, leadership roles for women: VP

Jaipur, Apr 25: Vice President C P Radhakrishnan on Saturday emphasised the importance of leadership roles for women and also said the true measure of education lies in its application for the betterment of society, innovation and ethical conduct.

Referring to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he encouraged graduates to become job creators, innovators and nation-builders.

Radhakrishnan was speaking at the 35th convocation of the University of Rajasthan here.

Highlighting the significance of women’s empowerment, the vice president expressed pride in achievements of women graduates. He noted that a majority of gold medal winners in recent years have been women.

“A truly developed nation cannot exist without equal opportunity, dignity and leadership roles for its women,” he said.

“Their accomplishments represent significant progress and inspire future generations,” he said.

The vice president urged students to think critically, act ethically and embrace lifelong learning. He encouraged them to remain resilient, learn from failures and stay grounded.

“Excellence without empathy and achievement without humility are incomplete,” he said.

He called upon graduates to contribute meaningfully to society, uphold compassion, respect diversity and work towards the greater good. He also advised them to stay away from drugs and to use social media constructively.

Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa and University of Rajasthan VC Alpana Kateja were also present on the occasion. (PTI)
