Teaching job aspirants protest delay in notification of recruitment exam in Patna

Patna, May 8: A large number of teaching job aspirants held a demonstration in Patna on Friday, protesting the delay in notifying the date for the BPSC TRE 4.0 exam.

The protesting candidates started their march from Patna College and were heading towards Dak Bungalow Chowraha, when they were stopped by the police near Gandhi Maidan.

“Mild force was used to disperse protestors as they were trying to break the barricade,” SP (Central) Diksha said.

Several protesters alleged that the police baton-charged them indiscriminately.

The Bihar Public Service Commission Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE) 4 to fill more than 46,000 posts was expected to be notified in April 2026, the protesters said.

Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, who assumed charge during the day, said all pending recruitments, including through BPSC TRE-4, will be completed soon.

“There will be no more pending recruitments. Under the leadership of CM Samrat Choudhary, I will strive to ensure that the education sector emerges as a robust foundation of Bihar’s overall development,” he told reporters.

“Former chief minister Nitish Kumar ensured remarkable progress in the education sector, and the new government will scale it further,” he said.

Students’ leader Dilip Kumar, who led the protest march, accused former education minister Sunil Kumar of giving false assurances to candidates.

He expressed hope that Tiwari would resolve the issue promptly. (PTI)
