Wish Himanta govt scale new heights of growth: Rajnath

Guwahati, May 12: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday hoped that the new NDA government in Assam under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will scale newer heights of growth, inclusive development and prosperity.

Attending the swearing-in ceremony of Sarma here, Singh wished him a highly successful, impactful and transformative tenure ahead.

“I am confident that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi and his able leadership, Assam will scale newer heights of growth, inclusive development, and prosperity,” he said in a post on X.

Sarma lauded Singh’s best wishes and said that with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA government will continue to work towards building a better and brighter Assam.

Earlier during the day, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Himanta Biswa Sarma as Chief Minister, along with a new Council of Ministers.

Along with Sarma, four MLAs — the BJP’s Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog, AGP’s Atul Bora and Charan Boro of BPF — also took oath as ministers. (PTI)
