Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary directs officials to establish 11 mega industrial parks

Patna, Jun 3: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday directed officials to establish 11 mega industrial parks in the state and food parks in all 38 districts to boost industrial growth and employment generation.

He also called for the creation of a 50,000-acre land bank to accelerate industrial development and attract investment.

Choudhary was speaking during a high-level review meeting of the industries department at his official residence.

According to a statement by the CMO, he said, “Industrial development is key to Bihar’s prosperity and can significantly transform the state’s image. The government aims to take Bihar to new heights in industry, investment and employment generation.”

The CM instructed officials to ensure adequate land availability for industrial projects.

“There is no shortage of resources in Bihar. Providing a favourable environment for investors to establish industries is the government’s highest priority,” Choudhary said.

He also directed officials to simplify and make industrial approval processes more transparent to position Bihar among the leading states in terms of ease of doing business.

The CM called for promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment in rural areas to ensure employment generation at the grassroots level.

He described food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals and MSMEs as “sectors with significant growth potential” and asked officials to intensify efforts in these areas.

Choudhary further directed the industries department to work towards establishing a textile industrial centre in the state and strengthening the startup ecosystem to create new opportunities for youth.

Industries minister Shreyasi Singh, chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit and other senior officials attended the meeting. (PTI)
