Jaipur, Jul 1: An eight-member inquiry committee was constituted on Wednesday to probe the circumstances leading to the fatal accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district, officials said.
The committee constituted by Dausa Collector Saumya Jha has been tasked with conducting a detailed probe into the accident that occurred in the Kolwa area of Bandikui tehsil in Dausa.
The inquiry panel comprises Additional District Magistrate, Lalsot; Additional Superintendent of Police, Dausa; Regional Transport Officer, Dausa; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bandikui; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Baswa; Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Dausa and Member Secretary of the District Road Safety Committee; Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dausa; and in-charge of the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD), NIC Dausa.
Jha directed the committee to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident and submit its report to the district administration at the earliest.
Eight people were killed and 24 injured after a bus rammed into a truck and caught fire on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district early Wednesday, police said.
Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit told PTI that six persons were burnt alive while two died due to severe head injuries. (PTI)
