New York, Jul 5: At least eight people, including four children, were shot at amid July 4 celebrations in Brooklyn’s Coney Island, the New York Police Department has said.
The injured included people aged between six and 37, the NYPD said. They have not been identified yet.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 10.37 pm on Saturday in the Coney Island neighbourhood, according to an ABC News report.
“All victims were transported by EMS (emergency medical services) to local area hospitals, where seven people were listed in stable condition,” the NYPD said, according to the ABC report.
A 21-year-old woman is listed in critical condition, police said.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, but the police have not yet made any arrests. (PTI)
