KSU intercepts drug-laden vehicle in Ri Bhoi

Shillong, July 15: The Khasi Students’ Union intercepted a private vehicle allegedly carrying drugs in Umsning on Wednesday morning.

KSU North Khasi Hills District Unit members acted on a tip-off about a vehicle using fake number plates to smuggle narcotics. During the operation, they apprehended the occupants and seized the vehicle and suspected drugs.

The union alleged the group included both outsiders and local youth, and that Umsning and Ri-Bhoi were being used as transit points to supply drugs to other areas. All the seized items and individuals were later handed over to Umsning Police Station.

The KSU has urged police to take strict legal action against those involved, saying such activities are harming the youth and society in the region.
