State BJP rejects viral posts on social media

Shillong, July 22: The state BJP has refused to endorse some statements attributed to the party and doing rounds in social media.

The BJP does not endorse such “false” statements, party spokesperson Arnab Das said while confirming that BJYM president too has denied making any such remark.

He cautioned against taking social media posts at face value, pointing to past cases where accounts of state leaders were hacked.

“Party statements always come through proper channels. We strongly reject any irresponsible comments being attributed to us,” Das stated.

The BJP Meghalaya said it respects the right of students to protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET issue. But it accused other parties of trying to “politicize and hijack” the agitation.

The party also condemned attacks on police during the protests and urged students not to let opposition groups exploit the situation.

“BJP does not support violence in any form. We want the protests to remain peaceful,” he said.

Das further criticized the Congress for its attempt to enter the Prime Minister’s official residence, calling it a breach that raises questions about the PM’s security.

He noted the visible rift between AAP and Congress over who was leading the protest.

“BJP does not support violence in any form. We want the protests to remain peaceful,” he said.

On the NEET paper leak, Das said the Centre has already made 13 arrests and the Prime Minister has assured major reforms.

“Given India’s size and federal structure, such changes take time. The PM is fully committed to securing the future of our students through lasting education reforms,” he added.
