Guwahati, Aug 29 : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday paid tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand on the occasion of National Sports Day and said the state’s athletes are shining everywhere.
He said the state is celebrating its growing sports infrastructure and young talent.
”On National Sports Day, as we pay tributes to the legendary Major Dhyan Chand, we celebrate Assam’s growing sports infra and the young talent emerging from every corner of the state,” the chief minister posted on X.
”From Khel Maharan to the national and international arena, our athletes are shining everywhere,” Sarma said.
National Sports Day is celebrated every year on August 29 to mark the birth anniversary of Dhyan Chand. (PTI)
