Traffic curbs in Sohra for Sept 4 marathon

Shillong, Sept 1: Vehicular movement will be restricted in Sohra on September 4 morning in view of the 5th International Half Marathon.

As per a public notice issued by the Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Sohra on Tuesday, traffic will remain closed from 4:30 am to 10 am on routes leading to the Shillong-Sohra road from Mawkdok via Laitsohpliah, Mawkma, Laitmawsiang and Laitryngew, besides stretches at Dainthlen Junction, Khilehshnong towards Sohra, Laitkynsew-Sohra Road via Mawmluh and Lad Sohbar-Sohra Road.

The administration has advised tourists and commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience, while emergency services including ambulances and fire tenders will be exempted from the restriction.
