Shillong, Sept 2: Newly elected Rajya Sabha MP James PK Sangma was felicitated by the National People’s Party (NPP) at a function in Tura on Thursday.
Chief Minister and NPP National President Conrad K Sangma was also felicitated on the occasion for amending rules to introduce a separate electoral roll for Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and for initiatives to strengthen the Council.
Sangma was also appreciated for the state government’s move to get a resolution adopted in the Meghalaya Assembly opposing uranium mining in the state.GHADC Chief Executive Member Dhormonath Sangma, Deputy CEM Stevie Marak, Executive Members and MDCs were felicitated for passing the separate electoral roll, digitising tax collection and trading licence (TNT) issuance, and introducing Service Rules in the council.
