Shillong, Oct 3: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Meghalaya has been cancelled, effectively deferring the presentation ceremony of President’s Colour for Meghalaya Police.
Shah was supposed to confer the prestigious honour on state police on October 5 at JN Stadium, Shillong.
The programme was postponed due to cancellation of Shah’s visit to Meghalaya, sources said.
“It is hereby informed that the President’s Colour Presentation Ceremony for Meghalaya Police scheduled to be held on Monday the 5th October, 2026 at J.N. Stadium, Shillong stands cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances,” state police said in a statement.
It said a fresh date for the programme will be announced later.
