TURA, Oct 4: The search for missing Tura driver Samuel R. Marak has ended in tragedy after his body was recovered and identified by his relatives, days after he went missing.
Samuel was last seen around 1 pm on September 28 at Akonggre Pickup Stand in Tura, where he was working as the driver of a Mahindra pickup vehicle bearing registration number ML08-H-2862.
After he failed to return, his wife, Posna D. Shira, lodged a missing-person complaint at Tura Police Station on September 30.
Samuel’s body was subsequently recovered and identified by his relatives. A post-mortem examination was conducted at the site, according to the information available.
The condition of the body suggested that it may have been at the location for several days, broadly matching the period since Samuel went missing.
However, the exact cause and circumstances of his death have not yet been established.
Police are expected to investigate how Samuel died, how his body reached the location and whether there was any foul play.
The recovery has brought a tragic end to the family’s search, while the investigation continues to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
