No impact of CJP protest on state’s youth: Dhar

Shillong, Oct 12: The protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) will not impact the youth in Meghalaya as it is a Central issue and would be handled by the Centre, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Monday.

“This is a central issue. I think the government will handle it properly at the central level,” Dhar said.

He, however, declined comment on the demand for removal of the Chief Election Commissioner.

Asked whether youth voters might gravitate towards CJP, Dhar said the government stands firmly with the youth and expressed confidence in their judgement.

“I am not scared for the youth. I always love and respect the youth of Meghalaya because our Meghalaya youth are very intelligent and they know what to do in the future, because as a government we are with them,” he added.
