Shillong, Oct 15: A woman from Garo Hills was traced in New Delhi after she had gone missing allegedly while going to meet her husband in Goa.
The woman, Silanchi K Sangma (25) was traced at New Delhi Railway Station following coordinated effort by Delhi Police, Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region (SPUNER) and Delhi A’chik Association (DAA).
Her family lodged a missing complaint at Bajengdoba Police Station, prompting the joint operation.
DAA president Lewinston K Marak said the woman’s mobile phone was active, enabling the police to track her location.
However, real circumstances of her ending up in Delhi while “travelling to Goa” is still unknown.
Her husband expected to arrive in Delhi to take her back home, DAA said.
