James bats for stakeholders’ views in shaping laws

Shillong, Nov 2: Meghalaya’s lone Rajya Sabha MP James K Sangma has underlined the need for stakeholders’ views and opinions shaping laws that affect them.

“Laws that touch communities, civil society and institutions work best when shaped by the people they affect,” Sangma posted on X while informing about his participation in the JPC sitting in Shillong.

“I look forward to a thorough, constructive process in the days to come,” he posted on X.

Expressing his happiness over participation in the crucial meeting, he said, “Honoured to attend the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 during its study visit to Shillong today.”

“I am grateful for the chance to introduce views from stakeholders in Meghalaya, and for the Committee’s time and willingness to take it into consideration,” he added.
