ADC polls: NPP names 6 more candidates

Shillong, Dec 24: The ruling National People’s Party (NPP) has named six more candidates for the autonomous district council (ADC) elections scheduled for February 21 next year.

All the candidates in this second list of NPP are for constituencies under the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).

The candidates are: Remdorkupar Lyngdoh from Saphai, Warmanship Shadap from Mowkaiaw, Dr Dashemlok Isniaw Kjam from Jowai North, Krison Langstang from Sumer, Aibor Hima Darnei from Saipung Nongkhlieh and Daiapher Lamare from Narpuh constituency.

The NPP has so far announced 26 candidates for JHADC and 18 candidates for Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

All NPP candidates for ADC elections in Khasi and Jaintia Hills will be announced by January 10, according to party sources.

Too many ticket aspirants for the remaining constituencies have been a major challenge that the party wants to resolve amicably, the sources said.

“We would want everybody to work together to ensure victory for the party,” they said.
