Shillong, Aug 9: Army Public School, Shillong took home the Overall Champion trophy at the 51st Annual Cultural Competition organised by Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre. Pine Mount School bagged the Overall Runners-up title.
The month-long celebration of youthful talent, creativity, and cultural heritage saw 2,811 students from 82 schools across Shillong and neighbouring areas compete in a wide range of events spanning from nursery to college level.

The grand prize distribution ceremony was held at the Quinton road centre where 285 winners were honoured with trophies, certificates, and accolades.
The event was graced by Rosetta Mary Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shillong, as the chief guest.
Citing Swami Vivekananda, she said, “It is culture that withstands the shock of time,” highlighting the role of such competitions in nurturing the heart and soul and fostering cultural appreciation across India.

Guest of honour, Amit Kumar Gupta from India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Shillong, commended the Mission for organising the competition on such a large scale, providing a valuable platform for young people to express and hone their talents.
Earlier, Swami Divyaswarupananda Maharaj, Assistant Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, delivered the welcome address, and Swami Vedeshananda Maharaj offered the Vote of Thanks.
The 51st Annual Cultural Competition reaffirmed the Mission’s enduring commitment to youth development, creative expression, and preservation of the region’s cultural heritage. The enthusiasm of participants and the warmth of the audience made the event a memorable milestone in Shillong’s cultural calendar.
