Guwahati, Mar 25 : NDA ally in Assam Bodoland People’s Front candidate Sewli Mohilary has declared owning assets worth over Rs 54.04 crore, 37 bank accounts, and 32 vehicles in her poll affidavit.
The 49-year-old is making her electoral debut from the Kokrajhar constituency, the headquarters of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) of which her husband Hagrama Mohilary is the chief.
Hagrama Mohilary is also the president of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
Sewli Mohilary (49), a post-graduate in economics, possesses more than 25 agricultural and non-agricultural land parcels, all self-acquired, has deposits in 37 bank accounts, and owns 32 vehicles, most of which are used for major construction works.
In comparison, her husband has total assets of Rs 9.15 crore, including deposits in eight bank accounts and one vehicle.
She has declared an income of Rs 9.33 crore in the 2024-25 fiscal. Her spouse’s income in the same fiscal was Rs 62 crore.
In her election affidavit, the BPF candidate said she is a businesswoman and social worker, while her husband is a political leader and a social worker.
She has moveable assets worth over Rs 30.51 crore against her husband’s Rs 3.66 crore. She has also extended a loan of Rs 40 lakh to a business establishment.
Sewli Mohilary also has 220 grams of gold jewellery worth about Rs 32.50 lakh. Her husband has Rs 5.55 lakh cash in hand, deposits in eight bank accounts and two insurance policies. He has also lent Rs 1.33 crore to his wife Sewli.
Hagrama Mohilary owns one SUV but no jewellery, and has a fishery valued at Rs 19.74 lakh.
Immovable property of Sewli Mohilary is worth Rs 23.53 crore, and that of her spouse is Rs 5.49 crore.
Her spouse is the owner of two agricultural and eight non-agricultural plots, which are also all self-acquired. He has no residential building but owns 10 commercial buildings, of which one was inherited and the rest acquired by himself.
The BPF candidate has loans worth Rs 9.12 crore, which includes 10 loans taken from banks or financial institutions, and eight from individuals and other entities. Her spouse has a loan of Rs 1.13 crore from one bank. (PTI)
