The meeting, held at Gadkari’s official residence, focused on expediting flagship National Highway (NH) projects in Assam. CM Sarma emphasized the need for continued cooperation from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to ensure on-time delivery of crucial connectivity infrastructure. Gadkari assured the state of the ministry’s full support, stressing that the projects would “significantly boost regional connectivity, enhance trade routes, and accelerate the pace of economic growth in the Northeast.”

Following the meeting, both leaders took to X (formerly Twitter) to share updates. CM Sarma posted: “In New Delhi today, I had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji. We reviewed the progress of Assam’s flagship infra projects and sought @MORTHIndia’s cooperation in their time-bound completion.
